How to Search the Directory by Name or Phone Number

You can quickly search your church directory to find someone—whether you’re looking for an individual or a family—by typing part of a name or phone number. You can also use the ABC button in the Member App to jump to last names.

Search by Name

Available in: Member App and Member Website

To search by name, simply begin typing in the search bar. This will filter the list of families as you type.

• Works for first or last names
• Matches letters at the beginning or middle of the name
• The more you type, the fewer results appear
• Results will be in alphabetical order by last name

Example:

Typing "Ada" would show:

• Adam (first name)
• Adams (last name)
• Cadance (because it includes "ada")

Search by Phone Number

Available in: Member App and Member Website

You can also search by entering all or part of a phone number.

• Results update automatically as you type
• Matching numbers can be found at the beginning or within the number

Example:

Entering “831” may display families with phone numbers such as:

• 831-333-1234
• 555-831-5151

Use the ABC Letter Picker (Member App Only)

In the Member App, you can use the blue ABC button to jump directly to last names that start with a specific letter.

How to Use It:

1. Locate the ABC button next to the search bar
2. Tap it and select a letter, such as S
3. The list will jump to families whose last names start with that letter
4. Scroll to find the name you’re looking for (e.g., Smith)

Tips and Troubleshooting

• Check spelling if you’re not seeing expected results
• Use fewer letters or digits to broaden the search
• Contact your Directory Admin if you can’t find a name or phone number. They can confirm whether it’s correctly listed in the directory.
