Printing your directory with a 3rd party printer

The easiest way to print your directory might be to take it to an outside printing company.

For helpful hints about choosing a 3rd Party printer, check our Blog Post on Choosing a Printer for Your Traditional Directory.

Specific questions your printing company might ask.

My printer won't accept a password-protected PDF. Can I remove the password?

Yes, you can remove the password from your PDF to allow for 3rd-party printing. Follow these steps:

  1. From the Admin website, go to the Share PDF tab.
  2. Click Change Password and then highlight and delete the existing password. Click Save.
  3. When prompted to confirm password removal, select Yes.
  4. Click Update PDF to apply the removed password.
  5. Download the PDF and send it to your printer.
  6. Go to Change Password, re-enter the password and Save. Then click Update PDF to re-secure the file for future use.

Can the fonts be embedded in the Church Directory PDF?

You can embed the font into the Church Directory PDF by using the "Arial" font.  This font is automatically embedded in the PDF.  To select the Arial font, go to the Settings tab and select the Arial font from the Font Options drop down.  Then save the settings, generate the PDF again, and send this newly generated PDF to your printer.

Can you include crop marks on the Church Directory PDF?

To add crop marks to your PDF document, you will need to use a third-party PDF editing software as our platform does not directly provide this feature. Once you have added the crop marks using the software of your choice, you can upload the edited PDF back to your account.

We provide a file that is exactly 8 1/2" x 11". There are no bleeds (print that goes off the edge of the page) on any pages that would require crop marks. That may be helpful for your print shop to know.
