Instant Church Directory  Privacy Policy

1. About The Members’ Website

Instant Church Directory is an application of Communication Resources, Inc.

Mailing Address: PO Box 9290, Canton, OH 44711

Email: service@instantchurchdirectory.com

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you choose to share with us through our mobile and web apps.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide our services and maintain the secure operation of your church’s directory. This may include:

  • Member-provided data: Name, email address, phone number, household information, and photos that your church administrator includes in the directory.
  • Administrator data: Contact information and account credentials to manage the directory.
  • Technical data: Device type, browser, IP address, and limited analytics necessary to maintain and improve web apps' performance and security.
  • Payment data (administrators only): Billing and credit-card information processed securely through a trusted third-party payment processor.

The Instant Church Directory app does not collect or store any personal information directly from end users. Access and content are managed by each subscribing church organization.

We do not sell, rent, or share any member data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Information

We use information solely to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Instant Church Directory service.
  • Provide customer support and respond to service requests.
  • Verify account access and ensure directory security.
  • Communicate with administrators regarding updates, feature changes, or account notices.

We do not access, view, or use member data contained within any church directory for marketing or profiling.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We may share limited information with trusted third-party providers who assist in operating the Instant Church Directory app and website—such as hosting services, secure email delivery, or payment processing.

Examples include Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store), and payment processors for subscription billing.

These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to use information only as needed to perform services for us and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

5. Access and Control

  • Members: Access and control of directory information are managed by your church administrator. If you wish to correct or remove your information, please contact your church directly.
  • Administrators: You may update, export, or delete directory data at any time through your account dashboard.
  • To unsubscribe from administrative emails, follow the opt-out instructions provided in those messages or contact us directly.

6. Data Security

All data is encrypted during transmission and stored securely. Access is restricted to authorized users and service providers who require it for legitimate business purposes. We use industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your information.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, or enforce agreements. Administrators may delete their church directory and all associated data at any time.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our service is designed for use by churches and their members. It is not intended for children under 13 without parental consent. Any information entered about minors is under the responsibility of the church administrator.

9. Privacy Rights (U.S. State Laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under certain U.S. privacy laws to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to limit its use.

Because Instant Church Directory is provided to your church as a service, your church acts as the data controller for the member information in its directory. This means:

  • Requests to update or remove your personal information should be directed to your church administrator, who manages your church’s directory.
  • We, Instant Church Directory, act as a service provider to your church and process that information only on its behalf.
  • We do not independently modify or delete member records without instruction from the church administrator.

If you have contacted your church and still have unresolved concerns, you may email us at service@instantchurchdirectory.com, and we will work with your church to address the request appropriately.

10. International Use

Our services are operated in the United States. If you access the app from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States under applicable data-protection laws.

11. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in law, technology, or our practices. Updates will be posted within the app and on www.InstantChurchDirectory.com/PrivacyPolicy. Your continued use of the app and members' website after such updates indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
